Ain't totally just me..

i finally met up with adeline for lunch today but.. i have yet to give her a bear hug yet. :( passed her a pack of maple biscuits cos apparently, the other pack that i brought along seems to look funny. so nvm, i'll pass you the 3rd pack i have at home. :)

sin #1
today, i pleaded guilty for making my class mate who's in my same team cry.

she was not contributing since the first time i teamed up with her for proteomics. there were even lessons whereby she ended the day without making any comments. those were the days when i drafted the content page and allocated easy stuff for her to handle for the ppt. but today, i cldn't be bothered abt her anymore. proteomics today is easy- to propose experiments to detect protein-protein interactions. i prompted her a number of times, asking "so XXX, what are u going to be presenting on?". her reply was,"errhh. what to do ah?". so i decided that today shall be her doomsday if she isn't going to be contributing at all. in a team of 5, she's the only one who was still uncertain of what to present on (rmb that she didn't comment on any part of the lesson, so we can't possibly know if she understands or not.). my 2nd breakout started early, at 12. so i was doing on my slide and was long done by 1.15 whereby it's the only time frame we can go for lunch. so i came back at just before 2, to realise that she did on FRET, while i did on BRET. take a little bit of time to read up on this 2 methods and u'd realise that the principle of this 2 methods is the same, similarity- 97%. BRET is a more improved method from FRET. so, there is no way that i put her slide behind mine, cos it doesn't flow. so doesn't it seem like i'm overlapping on her work instead after she presented first? but i still included her slide in. i didn't remove it away at all. then i was ranting to weiling on msn abt it, who sits infront of me, beside XXX. perhaps i was abit harsh in saying that "next time just anyhow give her anything to do. don't give her work also can. who asks her not to contribute.". it was a moment of fit. and it wasn't mean to target her directly. but god knows the bloody hell that weiling's msn fonts is approx size 16. try that on ur msn and tell me which idiot cldn't see the content when XXX is just sitting less than a metre away from weiling.

so XXX started crying. that totally suprised me out. it's the first time in my 2 yrs plus in RP that i actually made someone cry. then she left the class for a while. i asked weiling to go find her and mean while, i apologised to her multiple times. XXX told me to remove her slide but i assured her that it's alright and that i didn't mean to sound so harsh but hope that she'll contribute more. kkays. it goes on luh huh. & i got to know from her good friend who was in the same class that XXX hasn't been very confident abt proteomics and is a quiet person though she has gotten better since year 1. but, i can't really relate the reason for her to keep mum to herself and not contribute a single ti-ny-wee-ny bit, other than to wait for stuff to "fall from the sky".

yes, i do feel guilty and bad and i know i was mean. but i don't think i deserve the full responsibility. a year 3 student, should at least show that he/ she is contributing considerably well to the production of a ppt by the 3rd meeting for every presentation, instead of staying on fb all the time. anw, what's done can't be undone. though i've apologised many times, i can't take back what i've said.

actually, i have been teasing my fyp team mate too. similar case as well. but since i'm the only female in the team, no crying incidents. i do try to be nice to him too. unless he gets irritating by waiting for things to be done instead of being initiative and contributive. but at least he does give comments, but rarely those kind. -.-" maybe it'll help alot to be able to read his mind and know what he's thinking when we're cracking our heads.

like what guru says, i do wonder what's wrong with this year's fyp teams. seems to have problems every where. there are one-man-show teams out there actually. like jialat sia.

all i can say is that i'll learn from the past and avoid it in future.

YEAHH! ADELINE CONFESSED AGAIN!

closure of sports facilities is being extended for another week, and as predicted, cases of the influenza will rise to 100. congratulations. soon it will just be getting common cold.
shall be going to the doc soon for some anti-biotics. it made me cough badly yesterdayy. :( meanwhile, i'll catch a short wink first. :D

can i purchase antibiotics at pharmacies without doctor's prescription? :D  diphenhydramine may reduces mucous production and ease my phlegm but i think antibiotics are still better, considering that  diphenhydramine causes drowsiness and only reduces symptoms by 40-60%. aye. i didn't know it can prevent motion sickness and can be prescribed to insomnia patients.

kkay. today was fun after the farm. gabriel drove us to NTU campus for lunch, went to Hay dairies goat's farm at kranji, organic farm and tried some organic root beer without colouring and jalan bahtera campsite plus some ulu ulu area. i didn't know kids who gre up feeding on cow's milk actually increases phlegm formation. goat's milk is a better alternative as compared to cow's milk- good for lactose intolerant ppl and can be digested faster.

G301 project presentation is on 18 July, at classroom W25k. kindly burn all your notes and reports, mix it well with water and drink it to avoid being stunned and shot badly by the assessors. :/
i can't seem to send the 14mb draft report to gabriel. winzip doesn't seem to help ayeee.

mean while, check out the measure that RP has suggest in an attempt with regards to H1N1. -->

Group A Modules:

Timeout Window 1: 9.45 am to 10:05 am

Timeout Window 2: 11.15 am to 12.00 pm [Lunch]

Students shall leave the RP campus at 3.30 p.m.

Group B Modules:

Timeout Window 1: 10.15 am to 10.35 am

Timeout Window 2: 12.15 pm to 1.00 pm [Lunch]

Students shall leave the RP campus at 4.00 p.m.

Group C Modules:

Timeout Window 1: 10.45 am to 11.05 am

Timeout Window 2: 1.15 pm to 2.00 pm [Lunch]

Students shall leave the RP campus at 4.30 p.m.

so apparently, we're suppose to leave class only during this shorter time frame though our breaks are much longer. my modules are all grp C and break starts from 1030 to 1115 & 1215 to 1415. and we're always released earlier. shall see what's in for fun tml uhh. -raising eyebrows-

imagine wearing a face mask to paddle.

hahaha! looks like rightt? :D

k. good nights!

okay. the entire school should just get disinfected and save us from discussing about the topic everyday. i see staff of rp wearing face masks. that leaves me to ponder "what makes the management thinks that the yr 2s and 3s won't get in contact with the affected year 1s during the period of time before they were quarantined?". thus far, there's been no cases in the block that im studying in, but.. so?!

school's been so quiet now. lunch breaks are a ease cos no queue. everytime i report for lessons, i see students carrying their bags leaving school. so shiok uh. :X
now, school doesn't feel like one already.

final submission of G301 report will be due this coming friday. i hope wanshe can get back to us about our drafts the most by wed so we can make amendments to it. it won't be easy on her cos she needs to check through reports from 2 teams(10 reports) with approx 20 over pages each. but we'll need time to make amendments too.

i guess my cough never leaves me from the time i consulted a doc for antibiotics abt a month ago. that was way before the quarantine of our yr1 students.
sighs..

kkay. i've got lab tml.
ciaos! :)

somehow, i personally feel that the most self-discipline creatures are either dogs or monks. these few days have been at most ease esp after the submission of G301 report. but, over these few days and from there on, to be termed or associated with dogs or monks is in fact a compliment. while one may think that he/she is going to have more time for other commitments, it is in fact very true but set your priorities. remember, your ultimate priority. at the end of it, touch your heart and ask "do i deserve it?". either answer that your heart gives, the reason is sure vivid enough in your mind.
---

i don't know why, but i ran to the loo twice. maybe it's bcos i don't usually watch what i eat in aspects of hygiene? i mean, i'll just buy and eat. -shruggs- tummy still feels like its burning.

these few days, i've been repeatedly watching my facebook videos and i still laugh at it each time i watch it.

lucky year1s get to be quarantined. i bet they don't even bother to go online to do their RJs since they don't get to be given a grade. if it's me, i may just patronise the facilitator, that's all. hahaha. so in conclusion, such e-learning method only works if a grade is given. :)
and i'll never get to experience what is e-learning. :( neither do i want to cos it did mean that i'd get quarantined. guiks!

hehehe. latest craving- shilin mee sua without oyster. :D

one by one, we'll get by it.
genomics UT tomorrow, followed by fyp meeting regarding poster presentation.

we did spread plates on the water samples for our fyp yesterday. here's the results that were noticed after some incubation:

hahaha. obviously, most science students who have taken microbiology would have know that the colonies formed won't grow in such a pattern. it was a plate-gone-wrong-in-spreading and i poke it with pipette tips. but cute uh? i like! :D

ho yeah! i'm hardcore sneezing right now.

current cravings: gui lin gao with honey
                               ice milo
                               ribena
                               chocolate ice blend w/o pearl
soya bean curd from mr bean

fyp report is due soon and everyone is chionging it.
let's see. i slept from 10 plus to 12, woke in shock thinking that i've missed rj submission again, only to realise it closes at 8am the following morning. chiong more lit review again, slept from 3.30 to 6.30am, chiong fyp prep again, off to farm at 9am. then it was lab management ut after morning's fyp at the farm and plate spreading for our fyp after UT.

suprisingly, i still feel good. :D
shall resume back on my email regarding today.

GOOD STUFF!

hello! :D thinking about it, it still got me quite excited. sorry for the late update.

my appreciation and gratitude stretches out to all those who remembered and wished me, be it through MSN, Facebook, or SMS, face-to-face, early or belated, i sincerely appreciated it. :D still, words can't illustrate how many thanks i wanted to give.

that day started quite badly as i had diarrhoea twice in the morning and was late 20mins for class. went for a short while of fyp meeting after school and joined in training at around 6. and while doing pull ups, i recalled saying "woah. feels like my bladder is falling out..". hahaha. :D

after training, i got tao-poked twice by the girls, with angeline as the last bottom man, then me on top of her cos apparently, it was claimed that the pressure is most on the 2nd person from the bottom. bet u all like it right? machiam breast compression. :X

taken with kelroy's polaroid camera, after tao-pok session.

after training, i met up with jm. :) we went katong for laksa, marina barrage, henderson wave bridge and he sent me home after that. it was very unexpected for the suprises, seriously. and i really really appreciated every effort that was put into making my 19th a good one. thank you! :D

by the time i got home, it was close to 2 in the morning. but i managed to wake up in time for lessons. proteomics was a refreshing start for we got a new faci assigned to our class, and it's the module chair again. -sighs-
headed to town with sihong to shop for Glitz. i know i was indecisive but i still got myself a dress. and it's blue. :D it's not because of my fetish for blue stuff kay. but the fact that it was hard for me to get a dress which can do wonders in hiding my broad shoulders and fugly jersey tannlines. not that the dress actually did wonders to me but at the very least, i think i look fine in it. :) then it was back home. daddy and ma gave me angbaos. -raising eyebrows- hehehehe.

saturday
had training in the morning, followed by PT. and the usual small rounds was changed to big rounds which was so many more times much more cos the year ones misinterpreted the programme instructions. left for shower with jo at around 3. we're suppose purchase director chairs from army market. i tot taking the train will be good enough but since we heard that taking bus to tampiness then swop over to train for lavender will be faster, we decided to give it a try. but we missed 969 twice, which was far less time consuming to get to tamp.

first time missing the bus-
scenario: jo was on the phone with bev, pyschoing bev to skip her gym coaching and join us for army market. jo then hung up the call.
me: eh, coming.. 969 eh.. -points to the bus-
jo joins me in watching the bus drive past us.
jo: EHHHHH!!! why didn't you flag the busss?!!
me: we're not waiting for bev meh?
jo: she didn't confirm leh...
both of us broke into laughter realising how dumb we are.

second time missing the bus-
scenario: after we succeeded in pyschoing bev to join us, we chilled at the toilet in the stadium cos it had more ventilation than the outside. you know, the weather is damn bad. then we went back to the bus stop right infront of the stadium for the bus. we saw 969 approaching, turning into the bus stop. both of us stands up and walk towards the front part of the bus stop for boarding. but it just drove off without us!
me and jo: eh wtf?!
me: i tot it was going to stop thats why i didn't flag the bus eh..
jo: YAHH..
me: aiyah, don't care. just board the next bus even if it's 39 (which takes a much longer time). it's been a hour since we first waited for the bus liao.

we took 39, while bev got up from 1 busstop ahead of us and got to tampiness, realising that we've walked the wrong way to the train station and that we had no idea which bus goes to lavender. we enquired but decided to go ahead with train instead, only to realise that lavender is like so many stops away from tampiness.... -.-"
hahaha! and that was like 2 hours plus from when jo and i were first waiting for our first bus.
ate and bought the stuff after my successful haggling.

sunday
had training and left early. was suppose to meet at 1130  for zoo but we eventually met up with the remaining girls at 1215. but while walking to kailing's block, i realised sth fishy was going on, just unsure of what it was. it was kind of obvious when wenqi brought us to walk a round, into the level 1 corridor, out onto the road and back into the same area where we walked. kailing tried to hide but i saw her. i got blindfolded and was led to this car. apparently, kailing got her license and rented that vehicle. i felt so amazed sitting in a car that she's driving, like si-ri-ous-ly. hahahaa! i guess she drove to mandai's carpark already, but was looking for a parking slot. she was saying that she cldn't do reverse parking properly even after the vehicle was moving forward & back, and have to get down to ask for help from a cab driver while mel and i stayed in the car. somehow i got convinced and was told to get down. there when they removed my blindfold, the cake was just infront of me and they sang the traditional song. :))

went for kfc lunch and got into the zoo, explored and went for shows that we could make it for, with jolene taking so many shots of the animals at the same time. not to mention that the weather was damn bad, damn bad. i was perspiring since i crossed the entrance of the zoo, i swear. though we did complain abt the weather, it didn't really matter. :)

dinner was over at chomp chomp's thai express. then we bought tao huey- milk egg, chocolate, strawberry, honeydew, almond, mango. most of it tasted like pudding except for milk egg and chocolate. we headed over to wenqi's place and played with coco. he's still the same, barking like free, as usual. :P

we're sent home by our driver, who had only 2-3 hours of sleep.
thanks for spending the day out together, for every single detail that was involved.
how can i not have the most memorable 19th bday with these people around me? :D

i'm being formal on this because i've never taken for granted of the people around me, not even when i've known them for close to 7 years. :)
i give thanks, to these people.
somehow, i've no idea but i'm easily contented for most matters. that explains why i'm especially happy still. :D
<3!

monday
water session, followed by running. i swear it was crazy. running under 34degrees, 4 rounds arnd the school. i almost gave up while i was halfway through. i wanted to. running was never so torturous. it's okay to run, but not under such weather conditions. still, i saw efforts to improve to catch and not to be caught up. then it was Glitz 2009. congratulations to all award winners, merit and sliver. :) congrats to hairul bin yahya for being awarded captain of the year 2009. you deserve it. pictures will be up on facebook but do wait for the DSLR's pictures from bev and bigben. they're of much clarity after all, so definitely better. :)

today was a off from training. but tml it resumes.
hopefully, i can purchase sony ericsson G705 with my savings, close to 6 months after my contract ended, and close to 2 months after i'm back to using the first colour phone from nokia. geez.
